10 of my favourite writing quotes, because we all need a little push now and then

Whenever I’m stuck or lacking the will to go on, I like to take a moment to read through the various writing quotes floating around. Some I can laugh at, some I can nod in understanding and some help me to push aside any negative feelings and get on with my work.

This week I’m starting full on revision for Nephilim. And I’m in need of a little motivation.

Here are some of my favourite writing quotes that never fail to motivate and inspire.

‘The scariest moment is always just before you start.‘ ~ Stephen King

‘You only fail if you stop writing.’ ~ Ray Bradbury

‘You might not write well every day, but you can edit a bad page. You can’t edit a blank page.’ ~ Jodi Picoult

‘When you become a writer, your heart and mind become divided between your many selves.’ ~ Unknown

‘You can make anything by writing.’ ~ C.S Lewis

‘Almost all good wirting begins with terrible first efforts. You need to start somewhere.’ ~ Anne Lamott

‘Every writer I know has trouble writing.’ ~ Joseph Heller

‘I’m not a very good writer, but I am an excellent rewriter.’ ~ James Michener

‘Crippled and crazy, we hobble toward the finish line, pen in hand.’ ~Siri Hustvedt

‘Best advice I ever received: finish.’ ~ Peter Mayle

Good thoughts and happy writing!
