Well, it’s not quite motivation…
But seriously. We all know that in the coming month we’ll be plastered to our screens and stressing out more than usual. NaNoWriMo does that to people.
But while the task of writing 50,000 words seems daunting and almost impossible just remember that it isn’t about the win.
NaNoWriMo is about kickstarting your writing. So whether you write 500 or 50,000 words, you’ve still achieved something. You’ve still won.
And the same can be said for any writing you do, any time of the year. Writing is a marathon, not a sprint.
And as for life, don’t forget to live that too. Every writer needs to look after themselves. We can’t be expected to sit at a screen for 18 hours a day. So take a break, grab a hot chocolate, go to the cinema with your friends, (your real ones, not the ones in your head,) and live a little.
Your words will still be there when you get back. And so will your insanity.
